How to specify Trough Idler

Trough idlers shape and support the loaded belt through a set of center and wing rollers. A change of trough geometry should be reviewed with the conveyor designer because belt transitions, clearance and material cross-section are connected. Do not assume all three-roll sets are interchangeable.

Provide belt width, trough angle, roller lengths and diameter, mounting centers and inline or offset arrangement. Include belt speed, material density and loading conditions. A drawing or clearly dimensioned sample is particularly useful when matching a frame to existing rollers.
